Currently jobcentre staff (at least the ones I know down here) are no longer allowed to do job searches for clients when they sign on, they it's now just a conveyer belt: sit them down, see the evidence, have them sign and send them off and it looks like HMRC are likely to be taking over that part in the near future. The in house job points clients used to be able to use have also been removed and clients are now forced to log into the abortion that is universal jobmatch daily in order to keep claiming benefits. Once a claimant has been signing for 6 months they are passed on to one of the agencies that have taken over all of the support roles that the jobcentre used to have,

 noooo:

unemployment benefit is only for 6 months TOTAL here (per year ?)..........and if they get you an interview and you don't go.....stopped straight away....

It just feels like a complete lack of joined up thinking here, it makes more sense to have the support available from day one as that give the client a much better chance of finding work quickly not to mention that keeping it in house rather than outsourcing would most likely save money, given the government's track record.

I don't know if anyone watched it last night but that kid at the start knocked Truss for six.  Thumbs:

That's the one, didn't watch all of it for the same reason although I couldn't help but think that Abbot had just given the perfect argument about for the case to limit immigration when she said that her parents were immigrants.  rubschin:

Nonsense, I had a long chat with Mr Darwin the other day. True, he sounded Indian and sold me some solar panels, but it was nice to chat

Was that including the nice 'gift' from the government so that you get them at a discount. The one that doesn't mention that when the time comes to have them replaced it will cost you around 20 grand..  rubschin:
