Moths
« on: May 10, 2008, 04:07:59 PM »
Infestation is too strong a word, invasion too, for these tiny, delicate things but for the last couple of weeks I've been having a running battle  cussing:

Plodia interpunctella or Indian food moth I think and the first time in the eleven years that I've lived here. The food cupboards have been thoroughly cleaned out and the kitchen is spotless. Insecticide spray is the current weapon but the buggers keep appearing....  evil:

Any ideas?

I know Boris will say bomb the building but that's somewhat less than practical  ::)

Napalm?

A decoy light on your roof?

Follow Berek's example and microwave them?

Ah ha, that's better. I've been duelling with my Dyson nozzle  eyes:, and winning. A quick squirt of insecticide down the nozzle to see them on their way  ;)

There's a UK site  http://www.pestcontrolproducts.co.uk/food-moth-control-advice-and-information-i601244.html  that offers advice but £16 for an aerosol insecticide seems a tad steep  eeek:, which is why I put to the Pub...

I foresee Sunday's R&R will be replaced with

We get them here - the kitchen cupboards can get infested with them. Ardroxil does the job but then everything is inedible...  noooo:

I'd have expected Mr Wench's wallet to look like this.
