Growlers threat to jump off the Runcorn bridge prompted me to post this one

Bridges like this are to be admired.

Personally this is similar to my favourite bridge.

I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

It would feature in a top five of bridges if I was asked (not that i'm going to be asked mind), and British designed too. You can't beat the majesty of old ones though. I took this picture on the Thames last summer, you should be able to narrow it down to being taken on one of a couple of days, we didn't get many evenings like that

Given the nightmare that is global warming you need a fast shutter speed to catch the Thames when it is: -

a)   Not in flood
b)   Not as dry as a bone

Somebody said the other day that the phrases are interchangeable… When it is unusually cold, wet or somewhere had just been washed away it is ‘Climate Change.

When a river runs dry or a polar bear falls off his iceberg it is ‘Man Made global Warming’

Both events precede an increase in petrol duty and thousands of politicians flying off somewhere for a ‘conference’…  noooo:

Only one week before that photo was taken, both pubs either side of the bridge were 3' deep in water. They both reopened about 3 months later
