I see the Environment Agency says that flood defences need "a complete rethink". No shit, Sherlock

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35188146

Is this the same Environment Agency that, um, has been in charge of flood defences??

Looks like a photoshopped image that

Would you have voted for a party that committed to spend £Billions of our money on flood defences to cope with rain levels that had never been seen in the UK?

I'm guessing  noooo:
Well, whatever, nevermind

It's not about the money, more about what the EA do with it! Seen this? May well be open to question, but........

And now the three day week head of the environment agency has popped his head up over the parapet after coming back from his holiday in Barbados to declare that they have done a good job.  Banghead

Useless, lying, feckless, incompetent arsehole!!

A good job would have entailed building proper flood defences across the country and making sure that they themselves were protected. If that was the case then York would have avoided the worst floods in 70 years after some of your employees decided to open the gates because they were afraid the generators were going to be submerged.

A good job is not toddling off on holiday while large parts of this country are under water.

I once said that the environment agency wasn't fit for purpose and the attitude and arrogance of this cockwomble, plus the agency's role in trying to cover up his holiday hasn't done anything to chance that belief.

£100k a year for a three day week, put the bastard on performance related pay, with the current total cock up they would probably make enough money back off him to pay for a complete set of flood defences for the entire country.  cussing:
