MarineTraffic
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:45:17 AM »
I'm tracking a ship that has my new toy on it...

It isn't until you do so that you realise how many ships are out there going back and forth every day! A bit like when you track a flight to see when family are arriving...

Quite remarkable!

My ex used to work for Lloyds Register at Leadenhall Market, when all of this was done by telephoe/telegram - no GPS.

Oh you meant as in not in the Atlantic

That App is good though on a once in a while way, sit a bar or cafe with a view of the sea.  You spot a ship and wonder where going etc and there it all is

On the down side the Somalian pirates used to use an equivalent to target bigger ships

All the traffic to Limassol from the Atlantic goes past the end of our road (plus all the cruise ships from Limassol)...

...so I will be able to track it and watch it go by...  cloud9:
