Makes you wonder if they saw all this coming when they put the locks on the front doors...  rubschin:

The Cypriot cabinet has declared Tuesday a bank holiday, for fear of capital flight, and this may even be stretched to Wednesday, as depositors are certain to withdraw huge sums from the Cypriot banks after the haircut imposed.

What impact do you think there will be on tourists in the near future?

I think the place will be fucked for the foreseeable...  noooo:

They are now saying that they cannot get enough votes to pass this bill... It really is the worst case scenario because everybody will STILL take their cash out whenever the banks allow them yet they won't have the €5B they were planning to steal...  ::)

Looking from afar there's so much idiocies in all this.  There is an effin great Cyprus bill to be paid by someone(s) and seems that haircut has been rumoured for ages but how can your president give an assurance on March 7th that this won't happen and then agree it and not resign and/or cut off his own head?

Because he's a total punt cerchance?

Anyone else spotted that someone with 99k gets to keep 92k and someone with 100k gets to keep 90k?

Who's going to bet it doesn't change to a 20% tax of monies over £100k
Well, whatever, nevermind

Wot's all this shite about cash machines anyway? Surely a quick bit of internet banking could shift yer munny somewhere else.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
