'Ad enough. Quack beckons
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:23:32 AM »
Been  getting these gradually increasing pains in the back of me 'ed starting just behind me left ear 'ole and then spreading at 05:00 virtually every morning for the last 3 months now, and they're getting werser, making me feel sick and generally 'orrid. Keep waking me up, but after getting out me Bear pit, it all very slowly eases off. confused:
Doesn't matter what position I lie in, it won't ease, and even taking paracetamol doesn't help if I stay in me pit.
Most odd, and starting to get slightly concerned as it's getting werse as I said.

What could it possibly be, 'cus you lot will problee have a better idea than the useless quack, who'll fob me off with the usual "there's a bug going 'round, drink plenty of water................... sleep017

PS You are right about doctors ~ bloody useless the lot of 'em.

Mine just phoned to ask if I had been in hospital yet  ::)

I suggested he switch on his pooter and look ~ "That Doctor is why you have a link to the local hospital and you can access all their records about me"  Banghead

No. I sleep in my very own personal large Bears nest on me own  cloud9:...just how I like it, all spread eagled like.
Tried one pillow, 2 pillows, no pillows. No difference. Banghead

Didn't take any pain killers this morning to see if the pain would subside. It's down 80% and falling now. Most odd.
I'm wondering if there's some fluid build up in me neck musculs or summat, don't know how or why that should be like  confused: and the lying down after 5-6 hours is slowly putting pressure on me neck musculs or summat?

Of course, at our age, you start thinking 'orrible possibilities. scared2:

Mrs G sez I shouldn't bother with the quacks for our stated reasons....waste of time, and go and see a chiropracter (sp).

Gonna have to do summat, as I felt really pukey with it this morning. sick2:

I think it's back to your GP it takes effort and time but just keep going back they will get fed up with you and do something.  Other thing to suggest and it is very girly when you get up ion the morning stck a packet of frozen peas on the area then a heat pack. Swap between the two and see if that helps.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Don't mess about, get a scan even if you have to pay for it. Recurrent headaches in the same spot are not to be ignored. [/serious]

Week on Monday! eeek:

Piggin NJS. cussing:

Got me worried now that has...your post ^^^ scared2:

It's not REALLY a 'ed ache as such though, as it's more in me neck, but the pain does eventually spread into me nut like, yes.

I wondered if it was because I've been doing a lot of swimming tbh, but I don't like putting me 'ed under the water. rubschin:
As a consequence, I have to crane me neck which ends up aching, but I've not been for a paddle for a couple of weeks now to see if that would help.
It hasn't, in fact, it's got werserer. Banghead

Basically, and in a nut shell like, I think I can quite safely say that I'm simply...GOOSED. evil:

oooo! I cricked me neck once ~ hurt like hell so I took it to the Doc (RAF days). He got behind me, put a knee in me back, grabbed my head between two hands and twisted. I yelped and Bingo! No more pain.

It could be as simple as that but with the modern NHS no doubt you'll be given painkillers and an appointment some months hence to see a "specialist". By the time the appointment comes round you'll be either fully recovered or have got so used to it you no longer care. I suspect that accounts for about 95% of those notices about the numbers of people who failed to attend their hospital appointments ..... that or they died in the meantime. Whichever "IT IS SELFISH AND DEPRIVES OTHER PATIENTS OF APPOINTMENTS AS WELL AS COSTING THE NHS MONEY" as all those notices in hospital outpatient departments tell us.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Might sound strange, but it could even be wisdom teeth - when I had one (upper left side) taken out by the dentist he told me that whilst I waited to have the lower one  removed I would be better sleeping in a chair as lying down causes the pain for some reason. It was true, sleeping upright was fine, but put my head on a pillow and the pain would start and then increase.
Also the nerves for those teeth extend around your head so the pain doesn't always seem to be coming directly from the teeth/jaw.
