Title: The annual service and MOT
Post by: Nick on February 27, 2017, 02:44:54 PM
Jim is booked in for March 6th. It is like taking a dog to the vet, they hate it but feel better after, like.

Still, always a worry  scared2:

And usually expensive  cry:

Mine goes 3 days after but then I have no 'the Boy' to keep in the standard he wishes to be accustomed to.  So seems I can afford £5k worth of repairs/bribes/whatever

If it's more than £500 it'll be off to the scrap yard for mine.  It's already costing me a grand in tax and insurance a year and it only does about 4,000 miles a year now

It does a lot of them very fast though  cloud9:

Don't be daft! ::)

Nick doesn't take the owld Sierra to a proper garage like Uncle - no computer diagnostics or videos of the service process...  noooo:

It'll be some backstreet place where they use recycled engine oil and have a stock of parts that are in slightly better/newer condition than those on the car...

My car went for a service on Monday and I commented to another customer that I would love to tidy the garage up... they said he'd never find anything.  It is an H&S nightmare but so so cheap... so cheap we always add £20 on to the bill.   redface:

https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/era-throttle-body-422441071  Plus 3 hrs labour. Plus the oil, air filter, oil filter, pollen filters, MOT and other bits and bobs. £536.73 in total. I've had the car 2 years and it's the first money I've spent on it, so not bad really - I have saved three times that in fuel costs since then  :thumbsup:
