My Mum had a Kia, everyone but she thought it was great. As Nick says full of features for the money. She had the deciding vote by driving it at full throttle into a brick wall, neither she or it drove again.  She still maintains it was the car's fault.

The one I drove in France had about 20 buttons on the steering wheel. I had no idea what they were all for and used to press them randomly as I drove about. Nothing ever seemed to happen/change rubschin:

Another good thing is that they don't hold their value. I was looking at some that had been priced at c£18000 when new and had lost 50% of that in 6 months. Good second hand buy

One of our neighbours has a Sorento. You get a lot for the money and it hasn't broken yet. Been in it but not driven, seems very comfortable.

I think it would give the owld Panjero a run for its money.

Never buy a new one of course, but that applies to any brand.

A brand new one appears to be an extremely reasonable €19,000 here... cheapest I have found in the UK is £23,000...

Diesel?

 noooo:

Diesel!

Diesel is excellent - the torque is amazing and it matches an auto/DCT box perfectly....

The 1.7 CRDi produces 141bhp at 4000 RPM and 340 Torques between 1,750 and 2,500 RPM  eeek:

And it is also a fact that you don't drive a diesel like you do a petrol... ::)

So most likely mine will never see 4,000 rpm...

Why would you...? You have massive Torque (twice as much as the petrol version) at just 1,750 rpm - why would you thrash the arse off it?

Diesels are different, you drive them differently. I'd never had one till I came here 16 years ago but this is my second and the engine of choice... Plus the combined is 4.9l/100Km...  ;)

Shouldn't you be watching the footy...? ::)

No. ::)

Re-read it and you will see you are talking shite.

I didn't say diesel was about power I said it was about torque. Why did you not mention torque and just go with the silly, "and bugger all at 4,100 rpm" straw man...?

Perhaps you have never driven one but I have for the past 16 years. They work perfectly in a auto or DCT - and in a manual too if you appreciate the difference between petrol and diesel, power and torque - which you clearly don't.

You clearly don't like diesel but don't diss them until you have lived with one.

Driven loads of diesels turbo/non turbo, saloons, SUVs, even a dumper truck.  I'm a petrol head not a diesel head

Other cars must have it too, I've no idea...

When you are in high beam the camera detects oncoming vehicles or tail lights of vehicles you are approaching like my old KIA.

But it has a whole array of LED headlight elements, and can turn them off selectively to avoid blinding other vehicles... So you still have the benefit of 'high beam' illuminating the road ahead with little patches of light turned off... Quite remarkable!

It has completely transformed night-time driving...  cloud9:

I think it's recent and I agree it's brilliant.

Mrs K's car does it but her previous 2019 Rav 4 had the autodip that was complete crap dipping when it shouldn't and not dipping when it should.  My 2017 vintage Merc autodips and gets it right every time but doesn't have that fill in lighting which as you say makes a huge difference.

Taxi to airport in Valencia was a Kia-Ora, very impressed how much luggage it took while still having good leg room.  Seemed to be quite rapid despite the immense load.
