Nigel's reaction to this should be corking. The EU, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided that what the public needs to get back behind the project is an official sash with the EU flag on it. Because that's what we really need isn't it, forget the rampant corruption, arrogance and sheer ineptitude of most of the establishment all the problems that the public see within the EU can be solved by wearing a scrap of fabric that you too can own for the bargain price of £107.

"Why shouldn't our MEPs dress up too? This is the world's first transnational parliament and it is special," said an official.

Hmm I think I'll field that one for you, perhaps its because there is a large and growing portion of the electorate in EU states that are sick of the cost and arrogance of the establishment. Realising that with each passing day it matters less and less who they vote for in elections as the unelected leadership of the EU (and let's be honest here, the public can elect MEP's but they are then unable to have any input on critical positions such as EU president which is decided by the blocs who decide what best suits their own interests and not necessarily those of the electorate).

So yes, if you think that wearing a scrap of fabric can fix all the problems and make everyone love the EU project then go right ahead, I can sell you some rose tinted spectacles to go with them. But the MEP's can pay for this out of their own pockets, god knows between the pay and benefits they certainly earn enough to afford them.

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

Nigel says "Don't breastfeed in an "openly ostentatious" way

I would have thought he had a proven affinity for openly ostentatious tits.
I mostly despair
